We are very dissatisfied with the tent having spent £500.00 of hard earned cash on a leaky tent. The following week we went camping in Scotland and it rained and guess what? Yes, the tent still leaks and in the same places. We were given a small tube of Seamgrip by the salesman and told to use it if needed. Tent was returned two weeks later with comments that two of the beams have been treated and there was nothing wrong with the tent.
Returned the tent to the dealer (Springfield Camping) who returned it to Vango. We continued with our camping holiday but each time it rained the tent leaked in the same places. The first time we used this tent it rained quite heavilly and the tent leaked in three places.

Paid full price for this tent as Vango would not allow dealer to discount. Airbeam excellent idea.īy: Geeneymac Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating: Generally speaking a good tent experience. We did enjoy are tent very much nevertheless. The material ties to roll the tent up are much too narrow, and the smaller pegs supplied are inadequate in the wind I bought some special sand pegs which were excellent and some suit case straps which worked well. The very effective high rise at the opening was a bit difficult not to trip on. The top of the tent is very difficult to tension correctly, and flaps noisily in a breeze. Like all Vango AirBeam tents, a double action pump is supplied. Royal Air Wind Break Deluxe 3-Way, 480x140cm. Front ventilation gap does have 2 bits of Velcro and could do with more. Vango Skye II Air 400 Tent, AirBeam, 4-Berth.
#VANGO AIRBEAM 4 BERTH ZIP#
Flap held open by 2 guys needs a zip to close - and it flaps incessantly in a stiff breeze. Ventilation gap in rear of tent cannot be closed, and direct access to inner through the inner gauze means that in wind not that difficult to get a draft on the face. Plenty on space in the awning for kit and cooking.
Removable divider meant we could use a large air bed in a single divider. Positives - very easy to put up, rather more difficult to get in the bag after though. It is true that there is a type of perspiration leak though on or through the nylon you get a few drips if the roof flaps. Getting the tension right in any tent can be difficult. After this there were none despite some very heavy rain, and I concluded it was to do with the way I had put it up. On the first night we did have a leak - not quite sure where from.
We spent 2 weeks in Scotalnd with this tent. A great buy.Ġ from 0 people found this review helpful, was it helpful to you?īy: Andyone Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating: Its taken a couple of times to get the hang of deflating it fully but I find if you unscrew the caps completely it goes down quickly and small enough to get back in the bag again. It was spacious with a good size living space and a good enough height to stand and cook/change. It coped with the bit of very light rain so I don't know what it would be like with a full soaking. The air beams then become stiff and give the tent stability and a rigid. Instead of using steel or fibreglass poles, the air tents use inflatable beams that are filled with a high-speed air pump. It was remarkably easy to put up and the main inflatable frame coped excellently with a very windy day and night that saw some bigger tents collapse. Air tents (Inflatable tents as they are also known) are a revolutionary design that places smart innovation at the forefront of traditional camping. It is truly lovely.Ī 4 man tent, I managed to inflate and erect the tent alone even on the cliff facing and therefore windy site. I was a bit nervous taking it away for the first time last week.Partly worried the inflates may pop, puncture or blow away. It rained whilst up in the garden but did not seem to let any water in. I did a test inflate a few weeks before going away and the tent stayed up fine. When it arrived in the post, it did not have any guide ropes with it so I had to ask for some. I bought this tent late last year as now I am getting a bit older I cant cope so well grovelling on the floor to get into my tent bed! I needed some head room.
